INTRODUCTION

Orchid Academy Nuwakot has been established in 2003 taking the aim of providing quality education. It has been founded by the experienced and professional team of education. That is why it is getting a great success in achieving its goals of providing quality education to the students. It is proved by 100% result of the SLC/SEE examination since its involvement in the exam.

Our academic output is quite satisfactory in other classes as well. We have been providing equal standard of education in all levels. Curricular and extra-curricular activities, use of audio-visual methods and application of modern approaches like psycho-social counselling, PowerPoint presentation are the characteristics of teaching- learning process. Use of Montessori system in Pre-primary classes and application of Child-Friendly environment are the current approaches of our school. It is also committed to investigate new methods through various researches in the field of teaching-learning process.

OBJECTIVES

Orchid Academy has taken the following objectives.

1.       To provide quality education to all the levels and standards.

2.       To develop leadership, discipline and morale in students,

3.       To provide scholarship for the marginalized group and needy people.

4.       To foster the innate capacity of the children.

5.       To make research regarding the teaching methods and approaches.

6.       To provide technical and practical education.

ACTIVITIES

It has been performing various extra-curricular activities annually. Students of all levels and standards can participate in such activities.

Cultural Activities: Every year we are performing cultural program on school anniversary. Students of all classes are given opportunity to participate in the cultural show like dance, music, drama etc. There is a Cultural Club to co-ordinate all cultural activities.

Games and Sports: Every year students of this school compete with each other in various games and sports activities and get awards, honours and prizes. They participate in the district, regional and national level games and sports competitions as well. There is a Sports Club to co-ordinate all cultural activities.

Literature: students of this school have published wall magazine to develop their literary qualities. They participate in the school level, district  level, regional and national level poetry, essay and drawing competitions.There is a Literature Club to co-ordinate all cultural activities.

Computer & Science: Computer classes have been provided from class IV to class VIII with sufficient numbers of computers in the computer lab. There is a science lab for the practical activities. Science Exhibition is conducted with the co-ordination of Science Club.

Picnic and Tour: Every year the students get an opportunity to participate in picnic and educational tour.

SALIENT FEATURES

• Transportation Facility: This school has provided transportation facility to the students of Trishuli Colony, Bidur, Majhitar, Pipaltar, Devighat, Belkot, Dhikure, Labdhu and the places within these routes.
• Boarder: Boarder facility has been provided within school premises to  both boys and girls up to class III and only to boys from class IV to X.
•  Clean drinking water filtered with Euro-guard. Well ventilated and enlighten classrooms.
•  Qualified and experienced teachers.
• Scholarship/ free-ship: Students of poor class, marginalized group, Dalits, Janjatis and conflict victims have been provided with scholarship. Class 1^st students are provided with full free-ship and class 2^nd students are provided with half free-ship.
• Hygienic toilet
• Library, science lab equipment.
• Montessori based classes for pre-primary level.
• Child friendly classes.

DRESSES

a.        Shirt: a white shirt and a house colour T-shirt.

b.      Pant: a blue-brown pant and a white pant.

c.      Sweater or coat according to the colour provided by school.

d.      Shocks: white shocks or stockings.

e.      Shoes: black synthetic or leather shoes.

f.       Tie, belt, logo and batch as provided by school. 

FEE CRITERIA

1.  Admission fee doesn’t exceed the monthly fee of a month and it is charged only one time.

2. Annual Fee is charged in games and sports, extra activities, student welfare, sanitation educational materials, lab, library and miscellaneous headings.

3.  Monthly fees and computer fees are charged every month.

4. Exam fees are charged separately for every unit and terminal or annual examination.

5.  Other fees are charged according to the need and importance of different 

     services to be provided with.

FUTURE PLANS

Orchid Academy is going to launch the following programmes in near future.

1. Higher Level classes: We are going to start +2 classes in different streams.

2. Technical Classes: we have taken the aim of providing technical education in affiliation of   CTEVT.

3.  Internet facilities: We are going to provide internet facilities to the students in the computer lab.
